New Year brings in a new hope to thousands of Somali Prisoners detained across the world.

With the dawn of a new year, and an incoming Somali government later in the month, there is a huge momentum in place in finally addressing the significant number of Somalis held overseas .

September last year saw Somali protesters expressing their outrage over reports emerging in India that 50 out of 119 detained Somalis suspected of being pirates could face the death penalty at the end of an ongoing trial. 

With a fast moving information world, Somalis living even in remote areas with access to Internet & digital radio frequency have become aware of the acute problems facing Somalis facing prisons overseas.

There is now a strong voice growing country wide to pressure the nations leadership to address effectively the outcry of the Somali Communities overseas and assist them more robustly the issue of Somali prisoners .

According to world wide prisoner's statistics around 3000-5000 Somalis are incarcerated around the world without any effective Somali Government consular assistance.
